There is one thing I am going to say about my New Years Eve this year.
Shots of Mezcal are EVIL.

It was awesome seeing the decorations following a Mexico theme while all the girls were inside dressing in Saris from India. It fit the theme of the wedding, which was two different cultures coming together in one big celebration.

It was awesome. Again, since I was both a guest (enjoying that open bar) and part photographer, I wish I could have captured every amazing moment, but that is almost impossible in a Kory/Hormes party.

A few weeks ago I drove down to San Diego to hang out with two of my best friends from Seattle, Brian and Micah. The drive down was pretty ridiculous. I hit snow and the LA traffic on a Friday afternoon. On the drive down though, my car finally hit 20,000 miles. Now, this was a pretty awesome milestone because its taken six years for my car to get to those miles (I hardly drove in Seattle or San Francisco). I am glad to know that my car, named Artax, is finally getting the miles it so desperately craves.

Anywho, San Deigo with Micah and Brian was incredibly fun. Too fun for our livers actually. I am almost positive that if the three of us had a reality show we would be the most popular people on television. I won’t say much but a lot of it had to do with an inflatable bed, a see-thru shower, and a girl that worked for a sex toy company. My hangover that Sunday was so severe that I almost vomited all over the place at the San Diego Zoo.

Good times indeed.

Micah and I drank for 14 hours straight this day. It was a good reunion.

I should have put a warning, but a little booty never hurt anyone. The see -thru shower DID NOT stop Micah from getting naked. Meanwhile, Brian and I locked everyone out of the room while we showered.

An inflatable bed and two beds put together, by Monday our hotel looked like a crack den.

I am on a blog roll today! So most of my close friends know that I am not a fan of Karaoke. Probably the shy boy in me, but the last time I sang Karaoke I was in a sketchy bowling alley in Seattle singing Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is” (Long Island Ice Teas helped). I haven’t done it since then, but even though I don’t like to sing myself that doesn’t mean I don’t like to see my drunk friends doing it (while I take embarrassing pictures) .For JP’s Surprise Birthday Party, event planner extraordinaire Oscar rented a Karaoke room at some place in the Tenderloin (the name escapes me). Besides the overwhelming number of songs in Korean, there were a decent amount of good English songs as well.

There was an empty tequila bottle on the table, so you can imagine just how fun the night turned out too be.

Completely worth it in my opinion. I remember taking Mike to the Castro on his honeymoon trip to San Francisco after Briana had passed out from too much wine. That night will remain legendary and those pictures will remain secret.

To my girls that love the Castro, there is also West Hollywood in L.A.

Erin then sent me the idea for the shoot and I was immediately on board. Once I realized they didn’t want those lame portraits that most corporate companies have, I knew that this was a great opportunity to have fun and take some great shots!

The shoot brought out a lot of fun in everyone (well, mostly everyone) and I also realized that I have way too many props lying around my apartment. The employees were also allowed to bring their own materials (i.e. surfboard) and some went really out of their way to bring in some fun stuff!

To all the employees over at Tribal, thank you so much for making this one of the funnest photo sessions in a long time!! I can’t wait to see how the images are used in the future.

After ten days in LA, I can honestly say that I am now more excited than nervous about the move. The circle of friends I have down there is strong and because of that I met so many new people and made great new friends. I even developed a nice network of contacts with other photographers that I admire. I hung out with celebrities and supermodels and even annoyed a couple of them.

Ironically enough, as soon as I decided to make the move I started booking in San Francisco more and more. I don’t mind at all. The drive (or flight) up to SF is nice and quick and I get to explore this city that I love even more once I leave.

LA is going to be awesome. I just know it.

Due to many pitchers of beer the night before, it didn’t exactly go that way. But once Briana flew in, we got ready and headed to Sonoma. Even with the rainy weather, the sun would come out in spots and the landscape was BREATHTAKING. Almost all the wine stops we did were amazing, but the one that definitely stood out was Eric Ross. It was just 4 girls and myself in there for a good amount of time, but lets just say we definitely left an impression. They couldn’t have been nicer and the wine was incredible. I bought three bottles.

It was just one of those days were everything went perfectly. Surrounded by good friends, exploring new areas and just having the time of your life. It was incredible and one of the funnest days in recent memory. I am so glad I was able to enjoy it with all my girls.

The day in Sonoma ended with one of the most incredible meals ever at The Fig Cafe, but that is an entry all on its own.

Also, CHOCOLATE WINE SHOTS are my new favorite thing.
